ASTLEY & Tyldesley rider Max Evans enjoyed a terrific international debut match.
The 15-year-old took three race wins and two second places, to score 18 points from his five rides, as Great Britain beat Australia 100-74 in the third junior (u-18s) test match at the Le Fevre track in Adelaide.
Evans enjoyed further success by qualifying for the World u-16 Boys Individual Final, to be held on Saturday.
His A&T team mate Mick Knowles came through his semi-final to qualify for the World Veterans Individual Final to be held on Saturday.
A&T’s Marcin Jakubiak came agonisingly close to qualifying for the World Individual Final.
He finished one point short of the mark, to qualify as one of the two reserves for the final.
Commiserations to A&T’s Tomasz Wlodarczyk, Przemek Binkowski, Kuba Kosciecha and Max Evans, who were all eliminated at the quarter-final stage.
