DUAL registration scrum half Danny Richardson and Saints team mate, Jack Ashworth, who began the season with Centurions, are celebrating after being named in Paul Anderson’s 34-strong England Knights performance squad.

Both are promising young players who will benefit from being in the international system with other top players.

“I have spoken to Danny and Jack to congratulate them,” added Duffy.

“It is great they haven’t gone unnoticed with their performances for Leigh.

“I wish them all the best and they continue to grow through their careers.

“They have got great attitudes and been great for Leigh Centurions.

“Everyone appreciates how tough the Championship is.

“If they can stand up to it on our league they can do it in Super League.”

The club sent their congratulations to the pair via Twitter.

It read: “Congratulations to both @DannyRich96 and @jackashworthx, who have both featured on dual-ref for the Centurions this season, on your inclusion in the @England_RL Knights Performance Squad announced today.

“It’s good to see your efforts in the Leyther shirt haven’t gone unnoticed!”

Wigan’s former Leigh East wing Dom Manfredi is also in the squad, who will play a home game in the autumn.

Former Golborne Parkside juniors Ben Currie and Jack Hughes join former Leigh prop Chris Hill in the full England elite performance squad.
