ASTLEY & Tyldesley won all three North & Scotland League matches at Stockport on Sunday to maintain their unbeaten starts to the season.

In a thrilling Division 1 match, Stockport pushed A&T all the way to a last heat decider.

Team Green hung on for a last heat 5-5 and a 91-89 win, to preserve their two years unbeaten record.No more than 4 points separated the two teams, as the lead changed hands several times during the match.

Result: Stockport 89 Astley & Tyldesley 91. A&T scorers: Steve Harris 20 (plus 1 bonus), Reece Pollitt 20 (1), Pawel Idziorek 16 (2), Adam Phillips 16, Paul Graham 9, Matt Snell 5, Mark Grantham 4, Mick Knowles 1.

A&T opened with a 7-3 heat win to the Emily Burgess/ Mark Grantham pair in the Division 2 match.

Two more 7-3s in the middle of the match put the visitors firmly in control to run out 66-54 winners.

Grantham raced unbeaten for A&T.

A&T ran out big winners in the Division 3 match, 94-22, to extend their unbeaten record.

Aiden Green raced unbeaten in the u-10s match, with John White doing the same in the u-13s category.

Result: Stockport 22 Astley & Tyldesley 94. A&T scorers: Aiden Green 16, John White 16, Tom Morrissey 14, Levi Edwards 12, Duncan Whalley 10, Chloe Warn 10, Myles Grantham 8, Aliesha Green 4, Lucy Grantham 4.

A&T raced to team victories in the opening North & Scotland Regional rounds of both the Little League and British Youth & Junior League at Gin Pit on Saturday.

In the Little League match, A&T’s Frank White raced to a maximum in the u-8s match and went on to win the Grand Prix ‘A’ Final.

In the u-10s category, A&T’s Aiden Green raced unbeaten in the qualifying heats and headed home first in the Grand Prix 'A' final.

Result: Astley & Tyldesley 97 Sheffield 62 Bury 17.

In the British Youth & Junior League match, A&T’s Tom Morrissey, John White and Emily Burgess all raced to maximum points in the u-12s, u-14s and girls matches respectively, before taking the wins in each Grand Prix ‘A’ Final.

Result: Astley & Tyldesley 79, Sheffield 34, Bury 21, Stockport 15, Hull 11.

Astley & Tyldesley will take on Hull in a North & Scotland League fixture at Gin Pit next Sunday (14th April). First race is at 1pm.
