THE green shoots of recovery from the coronavirus pandemic are starting to emerge at Astley & Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club.
To explore the viability of a Manchester Individual Grand Prix series this summer, the club hosted a test event at Gin Pit on Sunday.
With three groups running races at a leisurely pace, the consensus among clubs that a six-round series starting at Bury this coming Sunday was viable.
On the track, A&T’s Duncan Whalley raced to a maximum score in the under 13s match, with teammate Matt Snell doing likewise in the junior race.
The senior match was more competitive, with Reece Pollitt top scoring with A&T teammate Steve Harris recording the fastest time of the day with 42.09secs in heat one.
