ATHERTON'S Keely Hodgkinson opened her Olympics by coming second in her 800 metres heat in Tokyo on Friday.
The Leigh Harrier and British champion reached Saturday's semi-final in two minutes 01.06 seconds.
Jemma Reekie followed Hodgkinson into the semi-finals by winning her heat in one minute 59.97 seconds.
Alex Bell finished fourth but will reach the semis, despite missing out on automatic qualification.
