LEIGH Leopards coach Adrian Lam was disappointed his side failed to see off Castleford after several good chances during golden point extra time.
A thrilling encounter ended in a 28-28 draw after Castleford winger Lewis Senior's last-minute try - converted by Rowan Milnes - forced an additional 10 minutes.
"I don't think we deserved to lose the game," Lam said. "For us to take the next step forward we need to get better with our execution.
"We got ourselves in position to win the game several times. I'm not blaming anyone for that - I thought we did well to get into those positions in the first place."
Leigh's Dream Team hooker Edwin Ipape marked his return from injury with a try and Lam was delighted to have him back.
"You can see the amount of difference he makes to the group," Lam added. "We should have Gareth O'Brien and Robbie Mulhern back soon as well."
Responding to speculation about his own future, Lam said his contract was until the end of the season and that he had a good relationship with club owner Derek Beaumont.
