THE RFL have responded to a racist remark directed at Wigan Warriors player Junior Nsemba on social media on Sunday.
The comment was made during the Magic Weekend game between St Helens and Wigan.
Although the person alleged to have made the remark is not on the systems of St Helens or the RFL as either a fan or a ticket buyer, the RFL are working with both clubs and the police as the matter is investigated.
The RFL statement reads: "Rugby League has a Zero Tolerance approach to racism and all forms of discrimination.
"We are aware of the abhorrent remarks made to Wigan Warriors and England player Junior Nsemba, which we condemn completely.
"No person should suffer racist abuse at any time or in any manner.
"As a governing body, we continue to work hard to eliminate all forms of racism and discrimination.
"We offer Junior our full support as we strive to ensure the matter is dealt with thoroughly and correctly.
