London Skolars 26 Leigh Centurions 43
STUART Littler bagged a hat-trick of tries as Leigh Centurions defeated a game London Skolars side at New River Stadium to march into the fourth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
His first try put Leigh ahead for the first time in the 18th minute after Skolars had taken a sixth-minute lead courtesy of Smokie Junor.
The former Salford centre or back rower went over again shortly before half time to put Leigh 26-8 in charge and he bagged the last of Leigh’s eight tries in the 70th minute.
Skolars kept snapping at Leigh’s heels but never got close enough to seriously question the visitors’ progress in the 2012 competition.
Further tries for Paul Rowley’s team came from Jonathan Pownall, Steve Maden, Matt Gardner, Michael Worrincy and Gregg McNally, while Martyn Ridyard kicked five conversions from eight attempts and Bob Beswick kicked a drop goal when Leigh were leading 42-20.
