LEIGH Centurions have signed Tongan international Ata Hingano for the 2022 campaign.
The arrival of the 24-year-old, who can play at half-back or hooker, is confirmed hot on the heels of the appointment of Adrian Lam as the club's head coach.
Hingano moved to the UK to join Salford Red Devils for the back end of the 2021 campaign having featured for New Zealand Warriors and Canberra Raiders in the NRL.
“I am really happy to be joining the club," he said.
"It’s a great move for me and having met my teammates this morning, we are all focussed on helping Leigh Centurions back into Super League.”
Head of rugby Chris Chester added: "“Ata is a great signing for us. He has experience of playing in the NRL and can cover half-back and hooker.
"He gives us some quality in the spine of the squad, and I am looking forward to working with him.”
