ON Tuesday, August 12, driving from Mosley Common through Tyldesley and Atherton to Bolton, I noticed every street light on both sides of the road was on.
Right through Tyldesley town centre and right up to Newbrook Road at the Bolton-Wigan boundary line, about three to four miles.
These are all brand-new lights.
I phoned Wigan Council and told them. When I got home at night time I was reading the paper and came across a column. How ironic.
I have reported lights left on all day on two other occasions, always in the day time.
They left the lights on all along the road from Tyldesley to Little Hulton. They were on for about three to four days from morning when I came back down the road about 6pm.
Look at Lord Smith’s comment at the end of the article -it is no wonder people say that Wigan people still throw pies at the moon.
