Re Mr Carr's letter in the May 31 edition about off road bikes.
Given that the majority party of Wigan MBC were proud to support' the illegal invasion of Iraq at a cost of £4 billion (latest Government figures ignoring the loss of 600,000 innocent lives), what would it cost to rent the hundred of spare acres of land available in the borough to allow youngsters to pursue a totally innocent pastime?
We are all well aware that the police will not support these young people as it will reduce the number of arrests and convictions available. Supporting the community?
If readily available land was offered to these riders I am quite sure they would be willing to pay a reasonable entrance fee.
