GRADUATES of Bedford High School have been recognised as the best performing year group at a prize-giving evening.
The outgoing year 11 students were presented with yearbooks and certificates as well as individual prizes for outstanding achievement in a range of subjects.
A packed school hall saw staff, students, parents and friends join together to celebrate what deputy head teacher Jim Killeen described as 'Bedford's best ever'.
Mr Killeen said: “This year group had the best results we have ever seen. They all worked really hard and thoroughly deserve the grades they received. The results are also a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our teaching staff.”
The packed school hall was also treated to a special vocal performance from year eight singer Holly Broadhurst and guest of honour was former Bedford student Warren Turley, who made history by becoming the youngest ever top-flight Rugby League referee.
