PUBLIC toilets are to make a welcome return to Leigh town centre.
Work to construct new public toilets in the Spinning Gate shopping centre will begin on Monday and they will be up and running by late July.
Leigh Town Centre Management Group worked with Wigan Council to consult residents and identify the best location to site the new toilets.
Leader of Wigan Council, Lord Peter Smith said: “I am pleased to see the return of public toilets to Leigh town centre, I know this is a very important issue for local residents and visitors to the town.
“We want to make Leigh an attractive place to visit and shop, and these toilets will hopefully encourage more people to choose the town as a shopping and leisure destination.”
The project will offer three separate, free to use toilets including male, female and disabled, all with baby changing facilities.
