BROWNIES from Lowton and Golborne went for a sleep on the wild side to celebrate the organisations 100th birthday.
Thousands of girls, aged 7 to 10 from across the north west spent the Chester Zoo night at in a bid to break the record for the biggest sleepover for the Big Brownie Birthday.
Amongst the 4,000 Brownies were 26 girls from 2nd Lowton and 2nd Golborne Brownies enjoyed an after hours safari and a lantern walk in the grounds before the sleepover.
Suzanne Spencer, Event Organiser said: “Wild Encounters has been a once in a lifetime opportunity for so many people.
“For the Brownies who got to take part - and attempt a world record – and to the volunteers who helped to make it happen, we’ll never forget it. “It’s been such a uniqueway to celebrate 100 years of Brownies!”
