The national Big Bike Revival campaign is coming back to Leigh.
The campaign aims to encourage cyclists to dig out their bike and give it the TLC it deserves at a choice of free community workshops.
The workshops will run from until 7 June and will be at various locations.
Simon Dale of Gearing Up said:“Our free Big Bike Revival workshop offers people a great opportunity to dust off their bike, get it fixed up and fall in love with cycling all over again.
“It’s simple. Just bring your bike along and we’ll give it a check-up and then carry out any basic repairs, from fixing a puncture to replacing cables and brake blocks, all for free And we’ll even show you just how easy it is to maintain your own bike in the future.
Susan Gredecki, Chair of Leigh Neighbours, added: “When we carried out our original consultation with local residents, one of the priorities you told us about was finding ways for local people to improve their health and fitness.
“Which is why we’re supporting Gearing Up and The Big Bike Revival. Cycling is not only a fun way to get fit, it’s also a very social pastime which brings people together."
Gearing Up is hosting the Big Bike Revival workshop at Sacred Heart RC Primary School in Windermere Road at 3.30pm on June 5.
The event is free and offered on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
