GHOSTS, ghouls and goblins will be haunting Leigh this Halloween with a whole host of events for all.

On fright night October 31, families are in for a trick and a treat throughout Leigh and its surrounding areas.

• In Lilford Park, from 4pm, a haunted woodland walk will take place with live actors and live dance performers. Don’t worry about braving the graveyard as you can make a lantern at the workshops in order to guide your way, after which you can take a ride on Pont’s fairground and enjoy hot drinks and food throughout.

• At Higher Folds Sports and Social Club a devlish dico, freaky food and ghoulish games will take place from 7pm until late.

• The Toyfields Adventure Play Centre will be holding a Halloween spectacular from October 26 until October 30.

There will be special guest appearances each day such as the evil minions and Gru and the Mutant Teenage Ninja Turtles and a Halloween party on October 30.

Tickets are £6.

• Tyldesley Market is holding a Shine a Light family festival on Halloween.

The event will take place from 6pm until 8pm and there will be competitions for the best dressed in adults and children and best carved pumpkin.

An outdoors screening of Hocus Pocus will be shown on the evening and the Halloween Dance Troupe from the 180 club will perform.

The festival will also set a new record in Wigan borough for the most carved and lit pumpkins in a town centre, hopefully next year other towns will compet Refreshments will be available.

The dance will take place on October 28 from 10am until 4pm.

The Dance Leighders will also be performing at Lilford Park on Halloween.
