RESIDENTS are invited to the attend a Leigh Family History Society meeting on Tuesday.

It will be held in the Derby Room of Leigh Library from 7.30pm.

This month's speaker is Marianne Howell. As well as her talk entitled George Lyon – Upholland Highwayman, there will be the chance for residents to ask the usual Help Desk for assistance with their own family history research.

There is a £2 charge for non-members to attend the society's meeting, which includes tea/coffee and biscuits.

The society also holds a Help Desk at the archives and local studies department on the second floor of Leigh Town Hall at 1.30pm and 3.30pm every Monday.
