A SAME-sex couple who are the surrogate dads of a baby boy have received photo messages of support from across the globe.

Steven Darby and Conor Bonilla-Graham, of Leigh Road, Hindley Green, posted a message about their love for baby George on social media at the beginning of February and invited people to share their thoughts.

They are overwhelmed with the response, receiving photo messages from as far afield as Sweden, Mexico, America, Sri Lanka and India.

The couple are planning to put together a book of the messages to show five-month-old George when he is older and highlight the positive attitudes that people are now displaying towards lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) families.

Florist Steven, 24, said: “The response has been great because it shows that people from around the world are supporting us.

“We just wanted to see how far it could spread, but we didn’t think it would get this far.

“I didn’t think we would get messages from places like Germany, Sweden and India.

“Everyone has took it on board really well, which is nice.”

Their friend Rebecca, who has two children of her own, gave birth to George on September 4.

Financial company manager Conor, 24, said: "We are so happy to have George in our lives.

“We cannot thank Rebecca enough.”

Steven added: “We cannot express how grateful we are to Rebecca for helping us make our family."

The couple have received more than 50 messages of support.

A message from America read: “George, the love of your daddies is so magical it is enchanting us all at the Witches Castle in Portland, Oregan.”

Another from Stockholm said: “Your daddies’ love for you is so big it has reached the royal castle in Sweden.”

Someone from Asia posted: “Your daddies’ love for you is so strong it has reached all the way to Colombo, Sri Lanka.”
