A NEW social group is being set up in a bid to boost the confidence of visually impaired and blind people.

Organised by sight loss charity Henshaws, the group will meet at Charles House in Leigh from 10am to noon on the last Thursday of every month, starting this Thursday.

The free sessions will offer residents the chance to socialise and share their experiences with other people with sight problems.

They will be part of Henshaws’ friendship matters groups, designed to help reduce the social isolation that can be experienced by people with sight loss.

Henshaws works in partnership with Creative Support and Wigan Wellbeing and Resilience to deliver their services.
