MORE than £1,400 was raised for charitable causes at the second Leigh Open Gardens Day.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Leigh, the event on June 11 saw five beautifully decorated private gardens in Pennington opened up for the public to admire.
There were summer houses, patios, ponds and even a river to peruse on what organisers have hailed a ‘wonderful social occasion’.
There were also plant and book stalls, live music and afternoon tea to enjoy.
The Rotary Club of Leigh’s president David Jones said: “This was an amazingly friendly occasion and more than £1,400 was raised between the Rotary and Inner Wheel for charitable causes.
“We would like to thank everyone who attended or helped with this event, including our sponsors Bents Garden and Home and Greensman Lawn Treatments, as well as of course the wonderful owners of the gardens.”
