A MAN has been found guilty of three counts of assaulting a woman following a retrial.
David Smith, of Bridge Street, Hindley, denied the charges as well as causing criminal damage to the value of £100, stealing a mobile phone and two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
But the 51-year-old was convicted of all those offences at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
They were committed between November 10 and January 18.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Smith was remanded on bail and is due to return to the court for sentencing on July 18.
