A PERSONAL trainer is running fitness classes for 12 hours straight to raise money for a children’s hospital.

David Mead is charging £5 for the hour-long classes at Try Fitness Training in Brooklands Mill, Leigh, on Saturday, October 21.

They will run from 7am to 7pm, with the proceeds going to the Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

David, owner of the DMPT personal training business, said: “This charity is particularly close to my heart as my friend’s little girl was treated there, and is sadly no longer with us, so whatever we can do in her memory is so important to do.”

The charity bootcamp challenge is open to all over 16s of any level of fitness.

Forty-year-old David, who has been working in sports fitness since 2005, said: “Whether you are a fitness fanatic or just want to try something new, we really hope the event attracts people in the area to come along and take part.

“I am really excited to bring this fantastic fitness challenge to the people of Leigh while raising money for children in need.

“What better way to spend just one hour of your time?”

Protein shakes and vials will be provided to participants from inkospor, a sports and lifestyle supplement that is sponsoring the challenge.

And as well for raising money for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, which cares for more than 275,000 patients and families every year, David hopes to inspire participants to adopt healthier living and learn about the positive benefits regular exercise and a balanced diet has on everyday life.
