A COMMUNITY theatre group producer and director has closed the curtain on her last Nativity play at a primary school after serving it for nearly 10 years.
Yvonne Gerrard from The New Garrett Theatre has guided pupils at Sacred Heart RC Primary School in Atherton on stage for their annual Christmas performance for almost a decade with this year's A King is Born being her last one.
The mum-of-two's involvement in that time has also helped the Lodge Lane school win an Arts Council award- a Gold Artsmark.
Yvonne is leaving the area after finding employment elsewhere.
Head teacher of Sacred Heart Carrie Morrow said: "Yvonne's productions have always been fun, energetic and inclusive for every child at the school.
"On behalf of everyone here, I would like to thank her and wish her all the best for the future."
Both of Yvonne's children are ex pupils of Sacred Heart and remain involved in theatre work, including her son Ryan who is currently in the process of completing a drama degree in London.
