THE British Transport Police (BTP) have released CCTV images of two men they want to talk to about a "nasty assault" on a train station worker.

Officers were called to Hindley railway station after two males become involved in an altercation with a staff member on a platform.

One of them got a baseball bat out from his jacket during the incident and smashed the cab window of a train which injured the worker and "caused him a deal of distress".

The incident happened around 12.30pm on Thursday, May 3.

A BTP spokesman said: "Officers would like to speak with the two men in the CCTV images as they may have information which could help us with our investigation."
