A LEIGH Leoaprds star helped to bring a whole lot of colour to a primary school's sponsored fun run last month.

Hoping to raise money for new astroturf to go under the school's climbing trial, staff at Bedford Hall Methodist Primary School organised a sponsored challenge that got children from nursery to Year 6 involved.

The run involved a series of obstacles such as hurdles, hoops, tyres and scramble netting, as well as water stations, a slip 'n' slide station, and colour stations where a range of coloured paint powder was thrown in the air.

Representatives from the school's governing body and Methodist Church attended to help the challenge run smoothly, while a DJ was also on hand to create a party atmosphere.

The Bedford Hall primary pupils were also given a surprise when special guest and Leigh Leopard's Captain, John Asiata, came along to join in the fun and left a very colourful mark on everyone.

The fun run was said to be a great success, with parental feedback highly positive - despite the extra washing! The children are also said to have gained a lovely memory to treasure for years to come.

Any extra money raised will go towards updating the school sound system, Bedford Hall primary staff explained.
