HERE is another great old picture from the local archives depicting a school rugby team line-up from times gone by.

This photograph features a Leigh school side from the 1950s.

According to the archives caption details, the picture depicts the players in the rugby team at Leigh Church of England School, on Henrietta Street, Leigh.

The photograph was take in 1954.

The trophy seen in the photograph is the Rubin Cup, which was donated by mayor Rubin, who was the owner of Boardman's furniture shop.
