Interested in the beauty industry from the age of 16, Shannon Entwistle studied at Wigan and Leigh College and worked at various salons before starting her own business in 2020.

Juggling the business alongside being a new mum to her daughter, Emaleah, now aged four, Shannon launched her dream salon on Westleigh Lane with her friend Charlize Hatton in 2022.

The pair previously spoke to the Journal about their nomination last year, explaining how they were overwhelmed with the response and feedback to their salon.

Shannon said: “Being a mum and running a business is not for the faint hearted but having my daughter gave me the most passion to do the best that I can to give her and myself an amazing life and each year it keeps paying off.”

The salon offers facials, waxing, eyebrow tinting and nail acrylics amongst many other treatments which are popular with the regular client base.

Shannon added: “After becoming a finalist last year for the Best New Salon category, this year I individually applied for this role and it has been a long waiting process but I’m absolutely ecstatic.

“I am so delighted and cannot put into words how grateful I am for every single person who supports me and all of my lovely clientele.

“It is because of my clients that I love my job and my workspace so much.

“Being in this industry and running a salon has always been a passion of mine and I will strive to always provide the best service and knowledge to the best of my ability.”

The awards ceremony takes place on June 1 in Birmingham, an evening which ‘celebrates the best in the industry’ and shines a light on the hard-working and talented businesses.
