LEIGH Genesis winger Tom Ince won two awards at the club’s end-of-season presentation event, writes Matt Lawton.
Ince walked away with the title of Leigh Genesis Supporters Association player of the year, along with the coveted players’ player of the year award.
Midfielder Dale Whitham, who played for England Schools under 18s in their Centenary Shield encounter with Scotland on Friday, was the recipient of the LGSA young player of the year award.
Matt Jansen won the club’s goal of the season competition for one of his three goals in a 4-3 win over Rossendale.
Jordan Stepien received an award for the club's top goalscorer (21 goals), while Jack Dorney was also recognised for making 51 appearances during the season.
Left back Kris King received the most improved player award.
Special awards were presented to supporter Andy Walsh for his fundraising efforts throughout the season and Andy Heald, who received a long service award after his appearance in Saturday's game took him to 158 appearances for Leigh over three separate spells.
