LEIGH Cricket Club have announced the return of Paul Keenan to the club for the 2013 season.

After a successful stint at West Leigh in 2012, when he scored 791 runs at an average of 56.5 including a top score of 140 along with 12 wickets, he has agreed to return to Beech Walk and the Liverpool Competition Premier League.

Leigh’s captain Mattie McKiernan is delighted.

“Keenan will be a key player at the top of our order and we know that he has the ability to score big runs quickly which can be the difference in time cricket,” he said.

“I am thrilled that he has agreed to return and he will make a difference to the team on and off the field.”

The news follows quickly after the announcement that Scott Cornish is joining the club from Highfield and McKiernan is still looking to add at least one other player before the start of the season.

The club will, once again, be turning out three teams this year, with the third XI playing on Sundays.

Any new players are welcome to attend the nets when practice starts or contact the club at Beech Walk for details.
