First published in Sport

FORMER Leigh Centurions player Jack Gibson died, aged 79, on Christmas Day.

He joined Leigh in 1955 from Bickershaw Collieries and enjoyed a five-year spell with the club, clocking up 111 appearances and scoring 27 tries.

In later years Jack was a regular at the past players’ dinners and always followed the fortunes of the club.

His funeral will take place tomorrow, Friday, at Howe Bridge Crematorium at 10.45am.

RIP Jack. One correction; he played for Leigh RLFC, not Leigh Centurions.
