LEIGH’s Dave Edwards was racing at Oulton Park in the Wirral 100 Club’s smooth running premier motorcycle race day.
Edwards entered his 250cc Yamaha in the Unlimited Classic and Forgotten Era Bikes races.
With a total entry of 340 riders and changing weather for the day, the racing was always going to tricky but fortunately Edwards’ races missed the rain.
Starting with 27 other riders – most of whom had larger capacity engines than his – gave Edwards some close and exciting racing with places won and lost throughout the whole of the race.
Edwards finished in a very respectable 10th overall, but more importantly, second out of eight starters in the 250cc Class, a good result for the day.
