LEIGH East's junior sides enjoyed a successful week with four victories and a draw from five matches. The stand-out results included a 14-9 win for the U7s at Leigh Miners and a 34-10 victory at home to Latchford Albion for the U10s.
Leigh Miners 9-14 Leigh East U7s
The East tries in the derby win came from Harvey Halliwell, Ewan Irwin, Bradley Mcdonough, Lee Kiss, Clay Davies, Ben Cohen, Coby Robinson, Lucas Fishwick, Colby Davies, Kian Docherty and Zak Darbyshire.
Leigh East U8s 7-4 Ince Rose Bridge
In another superb performance by the East team, they showed off their new skills by passing the ball down the line and supporting their team-mates in attack and defence. Tries came from B Allred (two), J Cockle and J Wright, while the players' man-of-the-match L Thorpe scored a hat-trick.
Leigh East U9s 5- 2 Crosfields
East controlled most of the game with two tries from Josh Hopkins and one each from Dylan Gregson, Callum Dean and Jamie Broom.
Leigh East U10s 36-14 Latchford Albion
In a great game of rugby, some strong defence by both teams in the first half kept it close, but East stepped it up in the second half.
Wigan St Patricks 6-6 Leigh East U12s
Pats were the first to break East's defensive line to make it 6-0 at the interval before Ryan Barnes pulled a score back in the second half to make honours even.
