LEIGH'S Mike Wilkinson will be in action at UFC Fight Night nin London tomorrow night.
Wilkinson, aged 28, a mixed martial artist currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is making a long-awaited comeback in the featherweight division after injury.
He will take on Finland’s Makwan Amirkhani, who has won both of his UFC fights since making his debut in January 2015.
Making his UFC debut in December 2012, Wilkinson's UFC record now stands at two wins and one loss, with his overall professional MMA record resting at 9-1-0.
His most recent fight was a first round knockout victory against Niklas Backstrom at UFC Fight Night: Nelson vs. Story, in October 2014, which earned him the Performance of the Night bonus.
Wilkinson will be joined on the UFC Fight Night: Silva vs. Bisping fight card at the O2 Arena by fellow Britrs Michael Bisping, Tom Breese, Scott Askham, Brad Pickett, Davey Grant and Bradley Scott.
Mixed martial arts (MMA) combines various combat sports and Olympic disciplines including Muay Thai, boxing, judo, jiu-jitsu and wrestling. The objective is to secure a win over your opponent. A bout can finish in three ways: via TKO/KO, submission or judges’ decision.
