ALTHOUGH not safe yetTyldesley go into the Easter break knowing this gritty bonus point win somewhat eases a little the prospect of being sucked closer towards the last remaining relegation spot, which proved vital given three of the other five sides below them also picked up points.

In many ways this was a near repeat performance of when these two sides last met, back in October, when Tyldesley came away from Cumbria, with a bonus point win, with Upper Eden gaining a losing bonus point at the death, despite them having the lion’s share of possession, on the whole.

Tyldesley started well, strong forward drives kept the hosts going in the right direction.

From a scrum 25 metres out, Mark Dickinson received the ball, before sheer strength had him go past and through several defenders for a great individual try, Martin Wallbank Converted, giving them a seven point lead, with just four minutes on the clock.

Eden constantly caused problems throughout the game, and looked to be launching a threatening attack, in the sixteenth minute, but prop forward, Travis Twizell, brilliantly, read the situation well, before intercepting, then broke, who then shipped the ball to the supporting Jamie Aldred, before he fed Scott Brown, who touched down, Wallbank again added the extra two.

More great play had Scott Brown touch down again, but frustratingly, a perfectly good try, was incorrectly, chalked off.

Again good supporting play gained reward, has Dickinson finished off, touching down for his second, with just minutes remaining of the half, Wallbank converted.

All looked to be going south, as Eden Recorded two converted tries within seven minutes of the second period and to add even further to Tyldesley’s nervous start, Aldred received a very needless yellow on 50 minutes, with most thinking, the wheels where about to drop off.

With backs to the wall, Bongs defended pretty well and finally cleared their twenty two, finding themselves on the front foot, for the next few minutes, as the ball was moved around well, which assisted in them dominating proceedings in and around the visitors twenty two.

As the game approached the hour, Craig Pulman received the ball, which resulted in another great individual try, being scored, has he stepped and ran hard, evading the defence, on route to the line, Wallbank converted.

With just twenty minutes remaining, the visitors came knocking on Bong door, which had them go close several times, and would of scored had it not been for a determined defensive effort.

Having already missed a penalty earlier, the visitors gained a deserved losing bonus point, with the final act of the game.
