BONGS moved up to third, after another good performance, against a Vagabonds side that showed plenty spirit.

A dominant first half saw the hosts cross for six tries, although the points didn’t come as freely during the second forty, mainly due to a much improved performance by the visitors, despite the game being gone.

As early as the second minute Tyldesley crossed for a very good try.

Lee Davies stole a Vaga lineout just inside the hosts half, Bongs then advanced via a few pick and drives before the ball was move out to the left towards Harry Hutton, who touched down in the corner.

Forced to defend for a while, Tyldesley finally broke free, through some excellent ball control and support, with Hutton crossing for his second try, from this point it was practically all one way traffic, with another three tries being recorded in eight minutes.

Another flowing attack had the ball move out, yet again, towards Hutton who made good yards then delivered a perfectly weighted chip over the defence for Mark Dickinson too gather and touch down, for a quality try.

Before the visitors had time to regroup Zack Sargent crossed for the bonus point try, which came on the back of some brilliant work from Adam Fetherston and Jack Kirkpatrick.

A solid driving maul laid the foundation for the next score, before Matt Soulsby shipped a good ball out, resulting in Paul Martin crossing the whitewash.

With just over half an hour gone, Vaga crossed for a try, after a seemingly harmless kick, resulted in the home defence just standing and watching.

Conor Norton blasted his way through the defence to record the last score of the half, under the posts, after coming on to a great ball, from martin, who added the extra two to his three previous conversions.

That made it 38-5 at half time.

By the 48th minute another two scores had been recorded. Good backing up and quick handling resulted in Henry Williams going over in the corner.

With Vagabonds in possession, they tried to move the ball around, but an interception from Dickinson and superb support from Jake Dyson, had Matt Soulsby gain possession in acers of space, who cantered over, Martin, added both conversions.

Vagabonds had a very good spell, which tested the home defence through some adventurous and brave rugby, whose persistence finally paid off, after a good lineout and strong driving maul was rewarded with a second score.

Another good lineout feed from Damien Twizell, was taken By Matt Crampton, before good distribution and backing up had Lee Davies touch down for the last score.
