TYLDESLEY'S contest at home to Oldershaw remained close and competitive for the first hour, before fitness, seemingly, became the telling factor, allowing Bongs to run in six tries at regular intervals, during the last quarter to win 59-8.

Third bottom, Oldershaw, defied their league position, and had the better of the first twenty minutes, via some good pick and drives, giving them a deserved eight point lead through a try and converted penalty.

Tyldesley got their account up and running, after Zack Sargent finished off some neat plays from a lineout, which sucked in the defence, before the ball was shipped out.

Yet again, another good lineout set the platform for a second Tyldesley score, before Adam Fetherston made a superb break, with Mark Dickinson finishing off, for a great try, beside the posts. Paul Martin converted both, giving the hosts a slender 14-8 half time lead.

From the start of the half, Oldershaw, continued to cause problems and defended well, but slowly Bongs started to get a grip, and boss the majority of plays and territory, through some good kicking and set pieces, which pinned the visitors down, deep in their own half.

Lee Davies extended the hosts lead, after crossing for a third try, ten minutes in to the second period, conversion missed.

A Dominant last twenty, started with a bonus point fourth try from Dickinson, quickly followed by another score through Matt Soulsby, which seemed to knock the stuffing out of the opposition.

Dickinson crossed for his third, after a neat one, two with Jack Kirkpatrick, who then recorded a try of his own after brilliant foot work and sheer pace, had him evade a now very tired defence.

Luke Dufeu touched down for the try of the match, after the ball went through many hands, from deep in the hosts half, which left the Oldershaw defence chasing shadows.

Sargent, who got the first, touched down for his second and the last try of the game. Martin converted five.

MOM Mark Dickinson.
