NEILJukes wants in-form Leigh to reduce the possibility of a Ladbrokes Challenge Cup upset by not accepting second best in France on Saturday, writes Trevor Baxter.

Jukes admits the Kingstone Press Championship leaders take a step into the “unknown” when they face unbeaten League One outfit Toulouse at the Stade Ernest Argeles.

They will do so without key stars including fans' favourite Fuifui Moimoi, recently checked in at hospital with a mystery infection.

But the Centurions boss knows his team still possesses sufficient firepower to earn a last 16 tie, potentially against Super League’s elite, if they approach the game with the right attitude.

“Our message has been clear that we have got to be good,” said Jukes who has given vice captain, Harrison Hansen, and missing talisman, Rangi Chase, another week off – against a side scoring an average of 64 points per game this year.

“We can’t rely on them being a bit off. We want everything in our hands.

“We have watched every game they have played. But it is difficult to judge because the standard they are up against isn’t great to be fair.

“Toulouse are a bit of an unknown. They have a lot of players who have played at NRL clubs and a lot of good local guys as well.

“We know that it takes some doing scoring 60 points and only conceding a try a game regardless of what competition you are in.

“As always the outcome will be decided on what we do. We have got to concentrate on ourselves more so than most weeks.

“And we have got to make sure we are good because it is going to be a difficult game.”

Leigh’s party fly out tomorrow, Friday, and Jukes admits he’s had to re-jig his team’s regular training schedule.

“Normally, we do our last bit of preparation the day before a game. But we will make sure we get a lot of volume into them before we go," he said.

“But I have been clear with the guys. There are lots of excuses we could make including the travel but we have to make sure our performance individually is very good. If it is we will give ourselves a good chance.”

Johnny Pownall and Jake Emmitt come back into the Leigh squad.

On Moimoi, Jukes said: “He got an infection in his body and took a turn for the worse. We are hoping he is going to get out this week. Then we will monitor him to make sure he is right before he plays again.”

Toulouse are led by Sylvain Houles, formerly of Huddersfield, London and Wakefield. They want to be in Super League in three years' time and include former Catalans Dragons pair Kane and Andrew Bentley in their ranks.

n The sixth round draw will take place live on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Thursday, April 21, from 8.30am.
