ANDY Burnham is right to draw attention to the proposed development of the farm land adjacent to the East Lancashire Road near Golborne and Lowton for housing.
Only five miles further along the East Lancs at Boothstown there are proposals to build 1,500 new houses.
Each house will have at least one car but there are no plans to widen the M60 or East Lancashire Road. If all these new houses are built it will create traffic chaos. It is a pity that there is no coordinated regional planning.
