TODAY my wife and I travelled on a stopping train from Newton-Le-Willows to Liverpool Lime Street.
We were amazed how many stations we stopped at to pick up passengers. By the time we arrived at Liverpool the train was bursting at the seams.
We were asked by a couple on the train how many stations were there between Newton and Manchester, we told them two. Patricroft and Eccles.
We have asked for a station at Kenyon with a short road connection to Atherleigh Way of 600 metres.
There are 10 stations from Newton to Liverpool, but two stations Newton to Manchester.
You can see Merseyside is much better served by rail.
TfGM needs to help the people of Leigh and district to get us a station.
