I COULD not agree more with KJ Marsh in his concern as to the proposed five-month planned closure of Astley Street, Tyldesley.
How is it that it is now possible to replace a whole motorway bridge overnight with little disruption to the public yet to cross Astley Street, some 50 yards max, it’s going to take five months?
How about an honest statement from TFGM detailing just how far behind this project actually is and how they can possibly justify the total closure of Astley street for such along period of time.
Our councillors are also not surprisingly quiet on all matters concerning the busway. I for one think it will devastate Leigh town centre and that if councillors think for one moment that Manchester shoppers are going to travel to Leigh then I would say they are deluded and that it’s much more likely that Leigh shoppers will defect to Manchester centre.
Just my thoughts!
