I LIVE in Leigh and travel to and from work in Manchester city centre.
While I agree that the guided busway is a good thing if it reduces travel time in the future, the current traffic disruption to and from work for the past few weeks has been a nightmare, not only for me but also fellow passengers whom I have been travelling with for many years.
I have now decided to catch the train adding extra cost, to be able to arrive at work/home at a reasonable time.
If you travel to and from Manchester every day you would see that the journey time has increased considerably.
Prior to increased traffic: Bus from Leigh 7.15am, arrives Manchester 8.30am Bus from Manchester 17.45, arrives Leigh 18.35.
Due to increased traffic: Bus from Leigh 7.15am, arrives Manchester anytime after 9.00am Bus from Manchester leaves 17.46, arrives Leigh between 18.50 and 20.00 (no exaggeration).
