I READ the articles on Formby Hall being demolished.

I for one agree it needs to go. As a resident who lives opposite the hall, it’s been mayhem.

We’ve had trouble from 2008.

Our home is vandalised every time the Bent and Bongs Beer Bash is on. We’ve had to clean up sick and people urinating up our walls.

Nothing has been done to protect residents when events are on. Carol Roberts quoted health and safety concerns about the building and street, but it was only last week that two houses were knocked down opposite the hall, next to Heatons, and there was no danger to residents.

We’ve had CCTV installed, as it’s been year after year we’ve incorporated bills from our windows being put through or our car being set on fire.

Our insurance has gone up and people say: “Why buy a house near to the hall?”

But back then it was quiet. Now we have irresponsible parents, while at the hall the kids are roaming, throwing bricks and adults are fighting in the street.

Several times we’ve had police to the hall and it was only last year a young boy had to be taken away in an ambulance due to fighting.

As for people coming round asking for petition signatures, no-one came to Alderfold because they know we wouldn’t sign.

I do hope the hall goes to better use, like a care home, for our health and safety.
