A female sparrowhawk
THIS photograph of a female sparrowhawk was taken by Leigh Ornithological Society member Anne Johnson in her back garden.
Sparrowhawks are fast and agile birds of prey that can catch other birds in flight.
They have become quite widespread in much of Britain, including Leigh.
