I FEEL I have to write this letter in response to an article in the Journal concerning The Hamiltons care home.

I totally disagree with the comments made and can only assume the complaints were referring to the previous management.

My husband is 80 years old and has been a resident there since the beginning of June.

My family and I are more than happy with the care he is receiving.

He is suffering from mixed dementia and Alzheimer’s and is at times quite difficult to deal with.

All the staff show kindness and patience on his ‘bad’ days.

We have no problem whatsoever with his personal care.

I visit The Hamiltons every day to see my husband and there are always enough staff to deal with serving the meals and helping disabled residents with eating.

It has a friendly atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble.

The new manager was asked to take charge of The Hamiltons in May and I have to congratulate her and her staff for all the changes that have been put in place in such a short time.
