Earlier this year Barbara Jackson and George Hall decided that it would be a good idea to hold a reunion of members of All Saints Church’s choir who had been together from 1959 to 1964, in memory of the organist and choir mistress Jane Bentham.
After six months of searching, eventually Barbara managed to find 22 members of that choir, most of whom had not even seen each other in 50 years.
The reunion was held in the Thomas Burke pub on October 12, with more than 22 members, family and friends attending from all over England.
It was quite an emotional reunion with everyone bringing photos from the 1960s, sharing life stories and remembering friends who are no longer with us.
Everyone drank a toast to Jane Bentham, our organist, choir mistress, piano teacher, youth leader, mentor and friend.
