SHOCK, horror…Donald J Trump has won the election.
But not to the ordinary indigenous Americans – they have voiced their utter disillusionment with the same old elitist career politicians and demanded change.
This election result is being likened to Brexit, and the reasons the leave vote won are virtually the same.
Our own arrogant, out of touch politicians have betrayed us all with uncontrolled/unregulated immigration and the associated issues it has created.
Housing shortages, overcrowded schools, spiralling welfare/culture conflicts and overburdened NHS, police and all other services cannot be sustained forever.
It isn’t even fair to the immigrants, who are coming here believing in a utopia.
The reality must be hard on them as well.
Our towns and cities have become unrecognisable and people who were born here or have lived here for generations are feeling pushed out.
It is not uncharitable or racist to confront these issues.
We are always hearing that Christmas and Easter are offensive to those of other faiths, that wearing poppies and honouring our soldiers is offensive, that our union flag is offensive.
Where on earth are we going as a country?
Nigel Farage was vilified and denigrated by the political elite and media, Donald Trump got the same treatment. But I think they got it right.
The new President has vowed to ‘serve the American people’. We can only hope that is a promise he will keep.
And maybe then our politicians will have a role model.
