Our pet of the week is Horace the tomcat.

He was nominated by owner Amanda Talbot, of Miriam Grove, Leigh, who adopted him and his sister Pip from Cats Protection three years ago when they were just 10 weeks old.

Amanda said: “He was named Horace due to his laid back pipe and slippers personality – he’s like an old man.

“He sits on my shoulder like a parrot and huffs like a dog when needing attention, and he loves to sunbathe on the roof of the gazebo in summer.

“I am a nurse and it is a stressful job, but Horace has a way of de-stressing me at the end of the day.

“Black cats are not often adopted but he is the most laid back and loving pet I have had.”
