HAS anyone ever known a bus service that takes its passengers to the shops but doesn’t bring them back with their shopping?
Diamond Buses has done this to the people living on Henfold Road and Hough Lane in Tyldesley.
We can get a bus to Tyldesley, the 694, but if we want to go to Tesco in Atherton we have to get off and catch another bus.
Then to get back we have to catch the V2 from Atherton and get off at the top of Hough Lane and walk all the way back with heavy shopping.
When you have mobility problems this just aggravates things.
I have complained to Diamond Buses and been told there is nothing it can do for us.
Its answer was to stay on the bus to Leigh and shop in Tesco there, then catch the bus back to Henfold Road.
I prefer to shop in the Tesco in Atherton as it is smaller and easier to get round.
Why should we be dictated to in terms of where to shop?
I would like to hear what other people have to say about this situation.
