I WOULD like to thank Wigan Council for the free gift of stone chippings.
We have them in our living rooms, our driveways and pavements, everywhere but on the road surface.
Potholes, which should have been filled prior to resurfacing, are now re-exposed in all their glory.
There are bald patches where chippings failed to bond.
The chippings now lie inches deep, flying up as cars pass and hitting your legs as you walk along.
The recent resurfacing of Nel Pan Lane is an absolute disgrace and a total waste of taxpayers’ money.
It was rushed and botched from the start.
I say that this Labour council is complacent and seemingly answerable to no-one.
Come the next council elections this lifelong Labour supporter will certainly know where not to put his cross.
Take heed Lord Peter Smith et al.
