I WOULD like to appeal to the powers that be and all the bus people who feed our area to have a fresh grassroots look at what they are doing.

Unless we go bus hopping, we in and around Princes Avenue and Astley Street can’t get a bus to Atherton.

Quite a few of us are retired and mobility is not what it was.

This situation started when the guided busway opened.

Yes the guided busway is fantastic if you want to go to Manchester, and a boon if you work there, but it doesn’t solve our problem.

We have worked, we have dug the coal, spun the cotton and fought in wars.

When we retired they gave us a bus pass and told us that it was worth a great deal of money.

We were good and faithful servants, you see.

So come on guys, help us out.

Why? Because we are worth it.
